1. Are your handbags and fashion accesories really handmade?

Yes they are! Concubine handbags and fashion accessories are all handmade by highly skilled craftsmen or artisans, as they are known locally in Vietnam. Our handbags are not mass produced using industrial processes like many bags on the market today. Designed for North Americans, all products have an Asian flare. Most handbags are made of silk, wool, leather or Chinese brocade, in oriental themes and designs. Being handmade, each handbag or accessory is slightly different from all others, for example in the exact embroided shapes.

2. Where can I buy your handbags?

You can buy our bags in many many stores throughout Canada and you can also buy some models on our Concubine online store. Of course, the stores don't all have the same stock or the same amount of merchandise, so you may need to check beforehand with the store you have in mind if you're looking for a very specific handbag model or or accessory color.

3. I have a store and I want to carry your products, can I speak to a sales rep?

We do the majority of our sales through sales representatives or sales agencies. You can speak to a Concubine sales representative or have one visit your store or your company. You can find a sales representative for your region on our contact page.

4. I'm looking for a specific handbag and I really can't find it in any store, they don't have the whole collection! What can I do to get it?

As mentionned above, Concubine sells our handbags mainly through stores, trade shows and select venues such as certain festivals and events. You can see the list of stores that carry our handbags and accessories on our stores page.

However, if you've tried to locate one of our products and you really can't find it in your region, you can always contact us and we'll see if we can accomodate you. Please be aware that not all of our handbags and accessories are displayed on our on-line catalog, as this catalog usually reflects the current season only.

5. How do I clean a silk handbag?

Some Concubine handbags are made with beautiful pure taffeta silk and should only be dry cleaned. Please, do not spray “safeguard” products on the handbags or use products such as Febreeze, as these may leave stains or darken parts of the fabric. Silk is a natural fiber; using chemical content will usually destroy the fabrics.

6. I want to return or exchange a bag, how do I do this?

  • Store purchase. If you bought your product in a store, you will probably want to return or exchange it at the store location. If for whatever reason you are not able to return a defective handbag at a store, we will gladly replace it free of charge within 30 days of purchase, provided that it was indeed defective in the first place and that you have your original sales receipt in hand. Please note that if you wish to report a defective item directly with us, we cannot issue you a refund. If your handbag or fashion accessory is defective, we will replace it or we will provide you with an alternative item of equivalent value.
  • Online purchase. If you bought your product on our online store, please contact us at info@concubine.com for instructions on returns and exchanges. We will replace any defective handbags or accessories within 30 days of purchase or we can exchange unused products for an equivalent item, also within 30 days. For exchanges, you will need to cover shipping fees to send the item back to us, as well as for an item that you would like for an exchange.

7. My handbag does not look exactly the same as the one in the picture. Why is this?

Concubine handbags and scarves are all hand made by skilled artisans. Artisans use sketches and samples to reproduce every model, but they do vary shapes and sizes of decorative aspects such as flowers, embroided shapes and other fine details. This makes your handbag or scarf one of a kind and this is why each one of them has subtle differences with other ones of the same model.

8. How do you ship your products?

  • Wholesale orders: We will usually ship using the most reasonably priced shipping option, and we will bill you the shipping cost only. Orders shipped to larger Canadian cities usually take from 2 to 5 business days to arrive. If you are in a particular hurry, we can always arrange for express shipping.
