About Concubine handbags and accessories
Concubine Inc. is a handbag and fashion accessories designer company based in
Montreal, Canada. We specialize in handmade handbags, purses, duffel bags,
satchels and clutches as well as certain fashion accessories such as scarves and
wallets. Many of our products are made in silk or leather. All of our products are designed
in Canada and all are entirely
handmade by artisans in a fair trade manner with our manufacturing partners in
Vietnam.
Our products are sold in many stores in Canada and in Europe, and some of our
products are also available directly through our Concubine handbags online store for the North

About our designer
Sue-Ann Pham combines Oriental and Western flair with creativity and a business sens. Her story is filled with obstacles and has driven her to surpass her limits
with passion, perseverance and patience. Newly arrived in the province of Québec (Canada) before she was 10 years old, she is confronted with a new country, a new
language and a new and unknown way of life.
A graduate of the HEC Montréal business school and of Lasalle Colledge's
International Fashion School,
she launched Concubine Handbag and Fashion Accessories in 2005. Ever since, she has created two handbag collections per year (Fall-Winter and Spring-Summer) as well as
various designer items such as wallets, cell-phone pouches, make-up pouches and diaper bags for mom. She also designs a variety of clothing articles and limited-edition
skirts and tops which she sells to local fashionistas and at the
Big Fashion Sale by Québec designers.
Distinctive
More than just esthetics, Sue-Ann also believes in solidarity and fair trade. Her creations are handmade in her native country, Viet-Nam. She hopes to gradually change the perceptions that consumers can have of worker exploitation in manufacturing installations. Her products are all hand created by workers and quality more than speed is encouraged in the detailed manufacturing process. Concubine creates many jobs and pays fair prices to workers, and also sells her collections here with reasonable prices.
